Tuesday, February 22, 2005 We are all young working adults
Oh yeah this is what working life is all about. Thats what people always say when you complain to them about your horrible day at work. Working life...and we are young working adults. So cliche, so mundane, so boring. I believe those at our age are going through this phase of life where there will be no more exams or assignments to do but endless hours of bitching and stress. Hey we want to prove ourselves yet hate the responsibility, dragging ourselves to work everyday. Our only motivation? The money. We can now buy what we want, whenever and wherever we deem fit. This is where I mostly exceed in my expenditure and eat into my savings. Then again there are still some who go huh savings? what? how? where?
Some of us have already started planning for the future. What seems so far away before when we were still in school now seems so near now. To some however, it still seems ages away. These are the people who go, repeat after me, huh savings? what? how? where? Those attached think about marriage. Those single are either afraid of marriage or can't wait to jump onto the bandwagon. When is THE ONE coming?, they asked. Did God plan for everyone someone to live the rest of the lives with? I don't have an answer to that but there are single men and women out there, still single at age 70 or 80. Maybe they are lonely, maybe they are happy. All I know is that we are all here for a purpose. And their purpose is not marriage but to contribute to the society in other areas. So that's what I think. Not all of us found our dream job at our first try. If you have, lucky you. Your motivation now is to excel in what you LOVE doing, money is only a bonus. Most of us however are doing something that we don't really want to but hey, we need the money. No longer are we relying on our parents for pocket money. Handphone bills, food, transportation and other expenditure all comes out from our own pockets. Freedom to spend the money yet a slave to earn it. So ironic. Well, that is what working life is all about, working adults...and in our case, we are all young working adults.
